The PSPBB/ESAD entrance exam is held two years out of three: two classes are trained at the same time for three years.

1. You will receive an email asking you to confirm your place and make payment by 30 March. Your place will be confirmed once payment has been received.

Access Conditions

Candidates wishing to request an adjustment to the conditions of the competition tests must send their request at least one month before the competition to the disability advisor: handicap@pspbb.fr. 

To take the entrance exams, candidates must: 

  • 1. be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration for the competition and 27 years of age on December 31 of the year of entry into the first year of training
  • 2. attest to training and/or previous theatrical practices (8 hours minimum per week over at least 1 year)
  • 3. be in possession of the Baccalaureate or a French or foreign diploma admitted with exemption or equivalence. 

The school's departmental council examines the admissibility of certificates of previous theater training or practice. It may, upon reasoned request from a candidate, grant an exemption from the baccalaureate. 

Candidates must pay the registration fee.

Round 1: File-based assessment

Applications start on 22 October 2025
Applications end on 29 January 2026

The file will consist of 2 x 3-minute videos and a personal questionnaire:

  • One of the two videos will be a monologue in front of the camera from the list of compulsory texts. This list will be announced when you register online at Oasis.
  • The other video will be a free-form video based on textual material of your choice, which may be non-theatrical and reflect your personal world. It's a space given over to your creativity.

2e tour : 4-hour work session per group of 12 candidates on a set scene. 
No preparation other than learning the text
Tests between 11 and 20 May 2026

3e tour : Final training
Workshops led by performing arts professionals.
22 to 25 June 2026
