  • Weekly technical workshops to learn the basics of acting: breathing and speech, verbal acting, dance, singing, martial arts. These workshops are held throughout the three-year learning programme. They have a number of objectives: awareness and mastery of fundamental instruments (body, voice), acquisition of the relaxation needed to move on to the stage, awareness of how to listen to oneself and others, and so on.
  • Theoretical lectures by Sorbonne Nouvelle professors. They provide historical knowledge of theatre, an understanding of contemporary creation and a sense of analysis. They also provide concrete information on the realities of production in the world of performing arts.
  • Thematic workshops led by outside speakers. These workshops are devoted to specific acting techniques (mask, clown, film, animated forms, etc.) that open up new dimensions to the actor’s play and imagination.
  • Frequent writing workshops are organised independently or in conjunction with creative workshops.
  • Creative workshops led by artists (usually stage directors) invited to the school to carry out a research project with the graduating class. This project is defined in advance with the school principal and can extend over several terms.

Thematic and creative workshops give rise to open workshops in the first year and public and professional performances in the second and third years in partner theatres.

Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Studies (Licence d’études théâtrales)

Theoretical training, adapted to the actor’s training, is also provided by Sorbonne Nouvelle University

This partnership enables students to obtain, in addition to the DNSPC, a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Studies, PSPBB/ESAD track.
