Presentations of Souâd Dantas' carte blanche from the 2026 PSPBB/ESAD class.
Once upon a time...
There was a great kingdom, although...
But above all, there was a beautiful palace, which is ultimately quite subjective.
In a cold country, very cold, really cold, that's for sure.
Where a woman reigned, who was not quite a woman in reality.
In any case, not really a king, but not a queen either.
A Girl King, an anomaly, a paradox.
It is morning, evening, or perhaps even afternoon, who knows.
And it is probably summer, spring, autumn, or winter.
In this kingdom where blood freezes before it can even flow,
five figures cling to all that remains of this kingdom, this Girl King.
In this dramatic tale, loosely based on the life of Christina of Sweden (1626-1689), five actors set the scene for this snow-covered kingdom. Through this tale, we question the relationships between gender, power, and domination, themes that run through the figure of the Girl King.
