WORKSHOP "UNE FABRIQUE DES RÊVES"

Students enrolled in the DNSPM Contemporary Music Creation programme will participate in the ‘Une fabrique des rêves’ module organised by La Muse en circuit (National Centre for Musical Creation) from 9 to 13 March, culminating in a performance.

La Boutique des Rêves

Ingeborg Bachmann's Boutique des Rêves (Dream Shop) is both a novel and a radio play, which will be adapted into a theatrical and musical performance with headphones in September 2026 by composer Karl Naegelen and director Clara Chabalier.

The story follows Laurenz, an office worker invisible to others, who discovers a mysterious shop selling dreams. The salesman offers him the chance to experience three dreams, paid for not with money but with time. Through these experiences, his personality is revealed and his life is transformed. The project highlights the links between music and theatre, exploring how sound influences meaning, how language changes according to its musical environment, and how to move from realism to the absurd.

Students in creation and theatre at CRR Paris and PSPBB will work with Clara Chabalier and Karl Naegelen based on the text and its adaptation to experiment together with these theatrical possibilities.
