Concert

Second-year students studying for a DNSPM in Jazz and Improvised Music are giving a concert at the Parc Floral.
The Parc Floral Festivals offer partnerships to support young musical talent. They invite musicians who are on their way to becoming professionals and innovative and unconventional artistic projects to perform on stage.
5 p.m. - Giampaolo Missaglia Sextet
Inspired by Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson, and contemporary musicians Frederico Heliodoro and Ben Van Gelder, the sextet offers music full of contrasts, ranging from softness to brilliance. Led by guitarist and composer Giampaolo Missaglia, the group reappropriates one of jazz's iconic formations and expresses in music the joy its musicians feel in playing together.
5:45 p.m. - Léa Layne
Composer and multi-instrumentalist, Léa began playing the violin at age 5 and was already composing songs by ear on the old piano in the living room. She also has a law degree and had a career as a parliamentary attaché before returning to her passion for music. Of Algerian descent on her father's side, she writes songs in Arabic, and this culture is in her musical DNA.
Now completing her studies in piano and jazz singing at the PSPBB, Léa performs in Parisian clubs, brilliantly interpreting her own compositions. Behind her piano, she improvises and draws on modern jazz, Chaâbi, and 1960s pop to convey a rich palette of sounds and emotions. The Beatles, Fairuz, and Bill Evans are all significant influences on this lover of sophisticated melodies.
As a songwriter, each of her songs illustrates a slice of life, an often ambivalent feeling that the music clarifies. Léa also rearranges standards, adding her warm voice, unique ideas, and delicate phrasing. Accompanied by Octave Potier on double bass and Léo Rodier on drums, their incandescent presence, their enthusiasm and sensitivity give their concerts an electrifying, dreamlike, captivating energy. In 2025, she will release her first EP, Nothing Left to Crush, establishing herself as part of the new generation of French jazz.
6:30 p.m. - Hadãn
Born from the compositions of Baptiste Jaffré, the group and its five musicians forge a unique musical identity by blending the rich influences of Brittany with jazz. Their music, both lively and evocative, aspires to make listeners dance and travel. “Hadãn” offers vibrant and captivating performances, where each note tells a story and each melody invites you to escape. An immersive experience for its audience, a sonic journey that reflects the cultural diversity and musical passion of its members, exploring new sonic territories with audacity and creativity.
