Szuhwa Wu is a violinist, teacher and artistic director with an international career. Trained at Columbia University, the Juilliard School and Harvard in the United States, she also obtained a Solistendiplom at the Musikhochschule in Zurich, as well as a Certificat d'Aptitude (CA) at the Conservatoire national de musique et de danse (CNSMD) in Paris. Her profile combines instrumental excellence, pedagogical commitment and interdisciplinary curiosity.

An experienced pedagogue, she joined the CRR du Grand Besançon in 2012 to teach violin and chamber music, where she implements projects combining artistic research, cross-disciplinarity and support for higher education. In particular, she founded the Musiques nouvelles workshop, working closely with guest composers and specialist partners.

In 2020, she founded and directed the Festival POTE – Playing On The Edge in Besançon, a participatory event of musical creativity, organized in unusual places, which recreates listening conditions that stimulate the curiosity of listeners.

She performs regularly as a violinist, notably with the Orchestre Victor Hugo Franche-Comté as co-soloist, the Orchestre Les Siècles, as well as with Ensemble POTE, the Lucerne Festival Alumni Orchestra, Ensemble Fabrique Nomade and Quatuor Impact.

Also a graduate in historical violin, Szuhwa Wu regularly conceives and participates in cross-disciplinary projects that bring together music and ideas, proposing an approach to music centered on shared creativity and collaborative pleasure.
