La Ville Dansée

Following the success of the first edition of La Ville dansée, Benjamin Millepied is proposing a second edition on the theme of hypermodernity and the impact of technology on our lives.

From June 5 to 8, a collective ballet by Dimitri Chamblas, Emmanuelle Huynh, Benjamin Millepied, Jamar Roberts and Pam Tanowitz, performed by 15 dancers, will take over 7 public spaces with free admission. A work has been commissioned around Koyaanisqatsi and the music of Philip Glass. Chosen for the intensity of its gaze, Koyaanisqatsi inspires with its silent denunciation of the impact of contemporary society on nature, and on our social and environmental behavior.

Five interviews with leading intellectuals on the challenges of hypermodernity will also be recorded and made available on various platforms from early June. They will form the second part of the diptych La Ville dansée. A montage of excerpts from these interviews will be broadcast before each of the 7 performances.
